Marije Cornelissen

Marije Cornelissen (1974, Stiens) is a Member of the European Parliament for GroenLinks, the Dutch Greens. She is a member of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs and of the Committee on Woman´s Rights and Gender Equality. She is a member of the Delegation for relations with Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro and Kosovo She is also Vice-Chairwoman of the Greens/EFA group.

Previously Cornelissen was the director of a local branche of Art. 1, the Dutch association against discrimination. At the same time she was active as a local councillor, as Chairwoman of the District Council Amsterdam-Zuideramstel. Before she worked in the European Parliament as policy advisor on women´s rights for the Green/EFA group.
She has been politically active for GroenLinks for many years. For instance as member of the board and as a delegate to the European Green Party.
