Webinar - Wednesday 3 June - 16.00h-17.00h
Just when the European Commission was taking first steps to realize the European Green Deal, the COVID-19 virus hit Europe with full force. National governments and EU institutions are now implementing monetary and fiscal policy measures that outsize those seen in response to financial crisis in 2008. The economic recovery of COVID-19 harbors considerable risk - and opportunities - for Europe to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
In this webinar, jointly organized by Member of European Parliament Bas Eickhout and Stockholm Environment Institute, researchers, EU policy makers and other climate policy experts will explore how the COVID-19 economic recovery can help finance a sustainable, just and resilient transition towards climate neutrality. The webinar will also give panelists and the audience the opportunity to discuss the European Commission’s Recovery Strategy.
Moderated by Bas Eickhout, Greens/EFA MEP, Vice-Chair Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety
